Department Statement
The Department of Criminal Justice offers an undergraduate degree to prepare students for impactful careers in law, victim advocacy, law enforcement, corrections, and community-based programs. Coursework is designed to address contemporary challenges in the criminal and juvenile justice systems, including topics in criminological theory, law and courts, criminal investigations, restorative justice, victimology, and ethics in justice administration. The Criminal Justice major equips students with the critical thinking and analytical skills needed to be catalysts for positive change and excel in fields including but not limited to public safety, government agencies, non-profit organizations, law, security firms, and corporate sectors. Whether pursuing a career in public service, law, advocacy, or research, our program empowers students to become leaders in the ever-evolving criminal justice field.
